A second night sell out crowd
of 14,000 fans stood and cheered
at the finish of a hard - fought
battle of driving and rebounding
in the Sports Palace. Outstanding
were the Soviet players Zubkov and
Ugrehelidze as well is stella guard
Mouznieks. For the Americans,
Barnhill, Warley and Lucas with
Floorwork, buliet passing and clutch
rebounding respectively. All in all
it was another team triumph as
each player with tremendous spirit
carried out assignments in excellent
manner.
As in Sunday's game the Soviets
trailed 7 points at half time, 39-32
but never more, finally overtaking
the Americans at 53-53. From here
on the lead changed numerous
times until a long hook by the
brilliant Zubkov tied up the game
77-77 and a driving lay-up by Gary
Thompson blocked by Zubkov ended 
the regulation period.
