Dr. Leyland Hugh Sackett (1928-2020) Image Collection

This collection contains 35mm slides of photographs captured by Hugh Sackett as he traveled throughout Greece from the 1950s to the 1980s. He documented his findings from various archaeological sites, along with candid cultural aspects of the country’s people and places.

The core of this collection, The Jessie L. Clough Art Memorial for Teaching, was a gift in 1950 from Floy K. Hanson in memory of her teacher and mentor Jessie L. Clough.

Shelby Foote Diaries

Beginning in 1941 and continuing through 2001, Foote’s diaries offer valuable details about the writer’s daily life, habits, and writing process. After Foote completed his final novel, he wrote nearly every day in his diaries, and from 1978 through 1999, Foote diligently recorded his thoughts in his signature script. In 2010, Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, acquired Shelby Foote’s personal papers and library.
