Abstract: | This class is designed to introduce students to the interdisciplinary field of urban studies. We will draw on historical examples and the theories of urban sociology, economics, and political science to explain the evolution of cities to their current position in the metropolitan region. Students will be exposed to the wonders of urban living as well as the problems encountered by urbanized areas and their inhabitants. The course is divided into four sections. |
