| Abstract: | The goals of this course are far more than simply learning facts and data about Asian religions, although learning the important details is fundamental. Beyond the mere acquisition of data, the study of religion promises to sharpen our skills in the empathetic understanding of difference. And perhaps by learning more about other cultures and traditions we may learn more about ourselves. Says the poet Rudyard Kipling, "What should they of England know who only England know?" |
