This syllabus was submitted to the Rhodes College Office of Academic Affairs by the course instructor.en_US
Narrative is the most common type of writing found in the Hebrew Bible, and many of the most well-known biblical texts are written in story form. This course is an introduction to how to study and interpret biblical narratives. Employing the method of narratology, we will examine a variety of texts in order to better understand the characteristics and aims of narrative in the Hebrew Bible. The course will enable the development of the skills necessary to engage in literary analysis of stories both within and outside the Bible.en_US
