|Abstract:||I had known John in high school at Battle Ground Academy, but when his roomate dropped out of school, I jumped at the chance to move into the highly desirable Rob Hall on the Southwestern campus. John Hampton, a fellow sci fi aficionado, was my archetype of the cool geek, long before that character was to enter the public cognizance by way of the Internet over 30 years later.|
|Description:||This image was taken by Edward Uthman, Class of 1974, and used with his permission. "Any digital editing was aimed at improving the technical quality, mostly softening some of the grain, restoring the dynamic range, and removing dust and scratches. Other than cropping, there has been no alteration of content, so these are real scenes as they really appeared a third of a century ago."|
This image was scanned from the original Ektachrome slide in December, 2007. I'm really amazed at how well Ektachrome has held up over the decades.
