Abstract: This image shows a relief of maenad, or female follower of Dionysus, carved in white marble. The maenad relief shows the woman's body from the shoulders down draped in cloth. It is from the ancient Greek city of Pergamon and it dates from the late 3rd century BCE. This object is located at the Istanbul Archaeological Museums in Istanbul, Turkey.
