Abstract: This image shows a detail of the Alexander Sarcophagus. The stone sarcophagus dates from 325-311 BCE and it is adorned with bas-relief carvings of Alexander the Great. This detail shows a scene with soldiers and horses on the base of the sarcophagus. It was photographed at the Istanbul Archaeological Museums in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2011.
