Abstract: | This image shows an exterior view of the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, Turkey. Emperor Justinian I commissioned Byzantine Greek architects Isidore of Miletus and Anthemius of Tralles to design the Greek Orthodox church in Constantinople. It was built from 532-537 CE. It measures 269 feet by 240 feet, and it is constructed of ashlar and brick. It was photographed in 2011. |
