Abstract: This image shows the Cryptoporticus at the Asklepion (also spelled Asklepieion) located in the ancient city of Pergamon (or Pergamum). The Asklepion of Pergamon is located in a valley below the Acropolis and it was a curative bath and medical center dedicated to Asclepius, the Greek god of healing and medicine. It was photographed near the modern city of Bergama, Turkey, in 2011.
