dc.description.abstractA sculpture of a World War I, U.S. Army soldier charging up a rock with a drawn bayonet. The plaque on the front of base reads: “1917-1919 Honor Roll, To the memory of Memphis and Shelby County men who gave their lives to their country in the World War.” (a list of 230 names follows) The plaque on back of base reads: “Erected by the Memphis Daughters of the Revolution with the aid of a grateful public and school children” Dedicated September 21, 1926.en_US
