Abstract: | A very dark brown ovular coin with Julian II the Apostate in military uniform, draped and cuirassed on the obverse, and inscription "DN CL IVLIA NVS AVG". On the reverse, almost complete smoothing over image of Julian standing left, holding globe and spear, inscription "SPES REPVBLICE". This coin dates from 360 to 363 CE. |
Description: | This coin was acquired by the College on March 23, 2015 as part of a donation by Auben Gray Burkhart, a longtime friend of the College. The coin was digitized and added to DLynx by the Visual Resources Center during summer 2016.
