Abstract: A large, heavy bronze coin minted under Trebonaius Gallus. On the Obverse is a radiate cuirrassed bust of the emperor facing left and holding a spear with a heavily worn out inscription, which originally read "C BI TER GALLOC AUGU" in greek lettering. On the reverse is a portrait of the emperor on a horse surrounded by another inscription which reads "NIKOMHDIWN DIS NEWKOR/WN" also in greek. This coin dates from 251 to 253 CE.
Description: This coin was acquired by the College on March 23, 2015 as part of a donation by Auben Gray Burkhart, a longtime friend of the College. The coin was digitized and added to DLynx by the Visual Resources Center during summer 2016.
