The Riley Building was built in 1891. Located at 157 North Main Street in Downtown Memphis, the building is also known as the Haverty building which was designed in the Romanesque style and is made of mostly masonry. Haverty's Furniture from Atlanta expanded to Memphis and built the building which has since been renovated. Intricate Hiberno-Saxon interlaces which resemble bas reliefs are set between the pilaster and capitals. Round engaged columns hand from the corners of the building facing Main Street. The building today functions as a commercial space with a Lenny's restaurant on the first floor. To learn more see Memphis: An Architectural Guide by Eugene J. Johnson. en_US
