The Goodwyn was designed by New York architect James Gamble Rogers and Neander M. Woods Jr. in 1909. Built in the style of beaux-arts, the Goodwyn is located at 127 Madison Avenue in Downtown Memphis. Similar to the Exchange Building, the Goodwyn is a skyscraper made of steel that also functions as rental apartments. The building features many rounded arches. There are Greek inspired engaged columns across the façade of the building. There are extremely ornamented pilasters above every arch and in between windows. There is a large eave around the building, and many bas relief ornamentations throughout the structure. To learn more see Memphis: An Architectural Guide by Eugene J. Johnson.en_US
