dc.description.abstractThe Immaculate Conception Cathedral was built in the mid-20th century by Regan and Weller. It is located on 1695 Central Avenue in the Central Gardens district of Memphis. The building is made of stone and features elements from the classical orders. The most notable classical element is the Corinthian columns. There is a large bull’s-eye window in the center of the façade. The church is symmetrical. There are many bas-relief aspects and ornamentation. There is a painting of the nativity scene above the center door. There are towers on either side of the church. The church is classical in style.
