| Abstract: | General Description: This medal was issued in 1975 as the American commemorative medal for the 500th anniversary of Michelangelo's birth. Obverse Description: The obverse features a portrait of Michelangelo with the inscription "500TH ANNIVERSARY 1475-1564" in the surround. Reverse Description: The reverse features an image from the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel of the two hands, fingers outstretched, nearly touching depicting the Creation of Adam, with the inscription "BIRTH OF MICHELANGELO."
