Abstract: General Description: This medal was issued in 1975 as a commemorative medal for the 500th anniversary of Michelangelo's birth by the Club Filatelico Numismatico (stamp and coin club) for the 5th convention in Ovada, Italy.
Obverse Description: The obverse features a right side portrait view relief of Michelangelo with the encircling inscription "MICHELANGELO BUONARROTI V. CENTENARIO DELLA NASCITA 1475-1975" (Michelangelo Buonarroti v. Birth Century 1475-1975). The artist name, "Teruggi," inscribed next to the portrait.
Reverse Description: The reverse features a relief of an enthroned marble statue holding a tablet with the encircling inscription "V. MOSTRA CONVEGNO CLUB FILATELICO NUMISMATICO, OVADA 1975" (Club Filatelico Numismatico, Ovada 1975). It is signed with the inscribed "S. Johnson" and has a "#44" on on the bottom left side.

Artist Biography: Luigi Teruggi (?-present) is a well-known sculptor and medalist who comes from a family of wood carvers and went on to graduate from Accedemia di Brera. His medals can be seen at the Sforzesco Castle in Milan, the Dante Museum in Ravenna, the Numismatic Museum of the Vatican City, and the Krakow Museum in Polan due to his vast medal production, which led to his close and longlasting relationship with Johnson.
