| dc.description.abstract | Obverse Description: The obverse features a protuding relief of Michelangelo, with his birth year on the left side and death year on the right. Surrounding the picture of Michelangelo is the inscription: "MICHELANGELO DI LUDOVICO DI LIONARDO BUONAROTI SIMONI." Surrounding the perimeter of the medal are the tops of Roman columns. Attached to the top of the medal by two chains is an artist's pallette with two brushes inserted through the handle. | - |
