This image was photographed and uploaded to DLynx in the Visual Resources Center during spring 2017.en_US
This is a digital photograph of Gracie Collier's painting. It was submitted as the first critiqued assignment, "Photo-volution," on February 8, 2017 in Erin Harmon's Intermediate/Advanced Painting class. The artist's statement reads: "The dissections of space create planes in space yet flatten the piece to take time and space into one moment, as understood with all four together. This is emphasized with the interactions between separated elements and the occasional use of false shadows. The realistic rendering with more abstracted graphic lines take apart the landscape to look at the makeup of the spot, with the realistic calling to the actual place and the lines to any understanding of the place beyond the visual but not clearly identifying with any one interpretation or reading, leaving the viewer wanting for increased clarity and questioning if it has any deeper meaning at all. Thus content needed to be addressed- more meaning would be needed."en_US
