| Abstract: | This course is a two-semester course carrying one credit for the entire year and with a single grade for the entire year. It focuses on the development of three important skills:
1. The use of the chemical literature,
2. The leading of group discussions,
3. Preparing and making effective oral presentations.
The course consists primarily of activities carried out by the students. You will carry out various exercises in searching the chemical literature. As a member of a two-person team, you will lead a discussion of a scientific article. You will also give one or more oral presentations on scientific topics. You will also attend all regular chemistry department seminars and all meetings of the senior chemistry seminar at which major oral presentations are given. |
