Abstract: In Deutsch, Na Klar! we will cover chapters 5-10. This will allow approximately two and a half weeks per chapter (including review and two hourly tests). As in the first semester, the emphasis in this course will be on the basics of German grammar and vocabulary. We will continue to develop all four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing). In addition to the texts in Deutsch, Na Klar! we will also read some simple literary prose and poetry and work with authentic material from German television. The weekly conversation classes are designed to reinforce the listening and especially the speaking component of this course through additional exercises and group activities (Rollenspiele, Partnerarbeit) from Deutsch, Na klar! We will also incorporate episodes from Alles Gute and four dialogues from Sprechsituationen aus dem Alltag, a tape program for which you will not have a script.
