| Abstract: | Elementary school teachers are held accountable for developing in their students
a positive self concept, as well as providing the information and procedures for
healthy living and social/environmental awareness. Elementary teachers must be
aware of potentially harmful conditions, and they must be able to provide for the
safety and physiological growth of their students. Understanding the importance
of individual differences within the context of the classroom environment and
accommodating for those differences in positive and meaningful ways are integral
components of elementary teaching. This course is designed to prepare classroom
teachers for implementing the necessary procedures for the students’ physical,
emotional, and psychological well being. |
