Description: Sharen Whiting has spent nearly her whole life in Cleaborn Homes since her birth in 1962. Because of her many fond memories of the community, she is sad to see her home demolished and wished the Memphis Housing Authority had done more to help acclimate residents to different living environments. She describes Cleaborn as she remembers it in the 1960s and 1970s, painting a vivid picture of a strong community where members shared what they had and trusted one another like family.
