dc.description.abstractThis portrait of William Neely Mallory who served the College as football coach, member of the Board of Trustees and Board treasurer, was painted by Raymond P. R. Neilson. William Neely Mallory was killed in World War II in Italy in 1945. The gymnasium was dedicated in his honor in 1954. He is wearing his U. S. Army uniform with his hands folded in his lap.en_US
