Abstract: This course will focus especially on writing and critical thinking. Assignments, readings, and class activities have been designed with a number of specific goals in mind: (1) developing skills in written expression; (2) learning to analyze and critically evaluate ideas, arguments, and points of view; (3) gaining a broader understanding and appreciation of intellectual/cultural activity specifically within the field of folklore studies.
