Abstract: The sequence of readings and assignments has been designed with the following objectives in mind: 1) Gaining a broader understanding and appreciation of Anglo-Saxon intellectual/cultural activity; 2) Gaining factual knowledge (terminology, classifications, methods, trends) relating to the study of Anglo-Saxon literature, language, and culture; 3) Learning to analyze and critically evaluate ideas, arguments, and points of view.
