Abstract: This image is from a collection created by Etta Hanson and given to the College in 1954. All items are from Otto Ege's estate. The leaf was contained and mounted in a mat created by Otto Ege, as are all other leaves in this collection. There is a handwritten description at the bottom of the mat, which reads: “Egypt, 1122 A.D. (500 AH). Koran in Arabic, written by Mohammed ibn Kuzal Al Isawai”. The text is written in black and red inks, and is decorated with small golden rosettes. The leaf itself is made of early paper; there were minor repairs made to the lower portion of the leaf, but it does not interfere with the text.
Description: Scanned at 1200 dpi by Doug Fetterman, Class of 2016, in 2014.
