Abstract: This image shows a carved stone pedestal at the Prytaneion of Ephesus. The relief depicts Hermes with a ram. The Prytaneion is located behind the basilica and it is where the sacred flame symbolizing the heart of the city was kept alight. It was photographed in Selcuk, Turkey, in 2011.
