The National Bank of Commerce Building was designed by Hanker and Cairns in 1929. Located at 45 South Second, the marble building sits at the corner of Second Street and Monroe Avenu in Downtown Memphis. The site is a neo-classical building that currently functions as an office building. Large Doric pilasters are at both street entrances, and Doric pilasters sit between the windows. A double attic rises above the cornice of the columns. To learn more see Memphis: An Architectural Guide by Eugene J. Johnson.en_US
