The Second Peter Grant House was built in 1912 by Peter Grant. The house is located at 1803 Harbert Avenue in the Central Gardens area. The house appears that it could have been designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, inventor of the Prairie style, himself. The house is a perfect example of what a Prairie style house should look. The extreme overhang of the roof is what gives it the obvious Prairie style appearance. The house features large stone engaged columns which support the large overhanging roof and are embedded into the parapet surrounding the porch. The house has several Chicago windows and a couple of blind windows. The house is made of brick. To learn more see Memphis: An Architectural Guide by Eugene J. Johnson.en_US
