| Abstract: | General Description:This medalwas issued in 1975 as a commemorative medal for the 500th anniversary of Michelangelo's birth. Obverse Description: The obverse features a close-up portrait of Michelangelo. The artist's last name is inscribed in the bottom left as "BROLIS." There are no other inscriptions on this side. Reverse Description: The reverse features a detail of a figure from the Medici Chapel in San Lorenzo, called Dusk. Surrounding the figure's portrait in the inscription "V CENTENARIO DELLA NASCITA DI MICHELANGELO BUONARROTI. 1475. 1975" (Fifth Century Since Birth of Michelangelo Buonarroti 1475 1975).
