Abstract: | Thai, late 19th early 20th century. Vessantara Jataka (old Buddhist story from India dealing with Last Previous Life of the Buddha). The family is living as hermits in a jungle. There are figures in a house and a woman in lower right corner cradling an infant. The image is held by a dark wooden frame. There is a sticker on the back of frame which says, "78.0106 Thai Painting 19th-20th century Vessantara Jataka". |
