Keywords: Archaeological Site
Issue Date: 2023
Publisher: Memphis, Tenn. : Rhodes College
Abstract: This image is a photograph of a trench wall, or section, of a deep sounding at the settlement site of Lefkandi. The stratigraphy is visible as one can see the rubble near the top with the stones. The trench can be identified as Trench CC and was excavated in 1964. This deep sounding which reached to the bed-rock exposed the earliest buildings which had pottery dated to the Early Bronze Age.
