Abstract: President Rhodes on site in Gulkana, Alaska preparing to record a solar eclipse in Gultana, Alaska. The group of 35 mm cameras on which Dr. Rhodes has his hands were personal cameras belonging to members of the research group who would to be working during the totality and wanted their own pictures. The camera on the wooden box attached to a telescope belonged to Charles Robertson ’65. It is a Kodak Retina 1 outfitted with a grating on the end of the telescope with which he hoped to get a picture of a spectrum during one or more phases of the eclipse. The large camera may have belonged to Dr. Grojean's or have been a system brought by the HAO (High Altitude Observatory) visitor. The College's equipment trailor is behind him. (Some information provided by Charles Robertson.)
