Abstract
This is an image of FedEx founder, Fred Smith, at the arrival ceremony for the two Giant Pandas, Le Le and Ya Ya, at the FedEx air field. The pandas were flown in a specially equipped FedEx airplane and greeted by Chinese and Memphis dignataries and guests. The arrival of the pandas offered both an introduction to Chinese culture and the opportunity for research by Rhodes students with biology professor, Dr. Alan Jaslow.
