Abstract
In general, the purpose of this class is to introduce students to the questions and methods of Comparative Politics. By successfully completing this class, students will be ready to perform in advance level classes in the discipline. More speci cally, this course has three main goals. The rst is to introduce students to the fundamental principles, generalizations, theories and processes of Comparative Poli- tics. The second goals is to push students to learn to analyze and critically evaluate ideas, arguments and points of view within the framework of our discipline. The third and nal goal is to push students to learn to seek and secure resources for answering questions on their own. To reach this goal, students are exposed to readings from a broad range of topics within the discipline. Breath is prioritized but depth is not compromised. Focus is given to 1 theory, while illustration is secured through numerous cases throughout the semester.
