Abstract
Football defensive back Chris Valas (far left) received the Walter E. Gay Award for most outstanding male athlete and track and field star Nicole Horvath received the Rebecca Rish Gay Award for most outstanding female athlete for 1997-1998. Both awards are named in honor of Mrs. Daughdrill's parents.
