Abstract
Thai, late 19th early 20th century. Vessantara Jataka (old Buddhist story from India dealing with Last Previous Life of the Buddha). Brahmin, taking children away, sleeps safely in tree and leaves children on the ground; angels in guise of Prince and his wife protect the children. Sage resting in Bo tree, red background. Two figures in foreground cradling infants in their arms. There is a sticker on the back of frame which says, "78.0111 Thai Painting 19th-20th century Vessantara Jataka".

This object was photographed and inventoried during summer 2017 by Jane Esklidsen '19 and Reagan Alley '18. It was uploaded to DLynx during fall 2018.
