Abstract
Description
This is an interview with George Hunt, a Memphis (Tenn.) artist. Hunt was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana and grew up in Hot Springs, Arkansas before coming to Memphis. Mr. Hunt, a former Memphis City School Art teacher and coach at George Washington Carver High School describes his experiences in Memphis as a teacher and artist. He also shares his memories about the climate in Memphis during the Civil Rights Movement and how his art was influenced by the events occurring around him.
