Abstract
The McLean Baptist Church was built in 1953, designed by Edwin A. Keeble and Associates. It is located at 815 North McLean Boulevard in the Evergreen area of Midtown Memphis. The brick church resembles a simplified Colonial style with large rolling barn-door shutters on the upper windows. The building does not have ornamental detailing, rather sticking to clean straight lines which draw the eye to a tall spire that can be seen from far away. Soaring spires are common in Keeble's churches. Inside, the church features parquet floors and vaulted ceilings. To learn more see Memphis: An Architectural Guide by Eugene J. Johnson.
