Here, interviewee and former Shelby County Commissioner Vasco Smith describes his long political career and his time as President of the Shelby County Democratic Club . He also talks about his support for his wife, Maxine Smith, and her exceptional Civil Rights work throughout her own career as the Memphis NAACP Executive Secretary.
