Abstract
Thai, late 19th early 20th century. Vessantara Jataka (old Buddhist story from India dealing with Last Previous Life of the Buddha). Scene in heaven: Indra telling his wife that time for her to be reborn on earth as mother of Prince Vessantara. There is a reclining woman beside the green figure on roof. Date, coconut, and breadfruit trees. There is a floating green figure in upper lefthand corner. The painting is held by dark wooden frame. There is a sticker on the back of frame, "78.0100 Thai Painting 19th-20th century Vessantara Jataka".

This object was photographed and inventoried during summer 2017 by Jane Esklidsen '19 and Reagan Alley '18. It was uploaded to DLynx during fall 2018.
