Abstract
This is a portrait of Stanley Joseph Buckman wearing a black suit and blue tie leaning over a tan chair with glasses in his right hand. There is a lamp and books behind him. The portrait is surrounded by a brown-gold frame and no glass. The frame’s bottom center has a plaque that reads “ STANLEY JOSEPH BUCKMAN / 1908-1978 / INTERNATIONAL INDUSTRIALIST, SCIENTIST, FOUNDER AND / CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF BUCKMAN LABORATORIES, INC. / AND LIFE MEMBER OF THE RHODES BOARD OF TRUSTEES. / WE KNOW BETTER THE MEANING OF ENTHUSIASM AND GENEROSITY BECAUSE OF HIS EXAMPLE. / DEDICATED OCTOBER 20, 1988". There is an artist signature in the bottom right corner that reads “TOM DONAHUE ’88” in blue. There are a few spots of damage on the portrait.
