Abstract
The purpose of this course is to provide you with an introductory overview of the current theoretical issues and empirical research concerning intelligence. Lectures and class discussions will enable you to: (1) gain a better understanding of how psychologists are currently thinking about intelligence, and (2) appreciate the range of positions and perspectives that surround many of controversial issues that will be discussed. An emphasis will be placed on the educational, societal, and political implications of research on intelligence.
