Abstract
Description
In this interview with Brenda Murrell she shares how the Cleaborn neighborhood has changed over time. She moved there in the 70s and lived there for about 30 years. She says it was safe when she moved in, but drugs and crime deterred MHA upkeep starting in the late 70s. She talks about the closing of businesses and how she worked at the Emmanuel Center at one point. She felt a strong sense of community there so was sad about the demolition, but she was happy once she moved.
