Abstract
This is a portrait of Katherine Ireys Diehl in a pink and cream dress sitting in a chair with a pink rose being held in her lap by her right hand. Her left arm is propped by the chair’s arm. Her portrait is framed with a decorative gold frame with a plaque in the bottom’s center that reads “KATHERINE IREYS DIEHL / 1878-1955 / Southwestern’s First Lady / 1917-1949”. The artist’s signature “Irving R Wilgo” is in black at the upper right corner of the piece.
