Description
Born in Somerville, Tennessee, in 1918, Woodbury worked as a political reporter for Memphis's Commercial Appeal from 1941 to 1953. He then became a partner of an advertising and public relations firm for 15 years, leaving in 1968 per the call of Mayor-elect Henry Loeb. He served as Director of Public Service for three years for the City of Memphis. He witnessed the 1968 Sanitation Strike and in this interview he reflects on his experience working with Mayor Henry Loeb during the Memphis Sanitation Strikes.
