Abstract
Description
Interview with Modeane Thompson, a social worker, counselor, and longtime resident of the VECA neighborhood. Thompson recalls being among the first black families to become involved in VECA and attend Little Flower church and school. She also mentions the block club started on her street, University Park Community Association. Thompson talks about the community developments in the area and how they are focusing on white streets in the neighborhood and ignoring the bordering black streets. This interview was conducted in 1979.
