Abstract
The Tennessee Brewery was built in 1890, designed by E. Jungenfel & Co., with the addition of a bottling plant in 1938. The brewery is located on 477 Tennessee Street overlooking the Mississippi River, south of downtown Memphis. The brick building is built in a Romanesque design, featuring heavy masonry piers and brick arches. The tower building is decorated with round moldings set in the window frames and round drip molding, which was originally covered in copper, surrounding the arches. Steel roof trusses appear to be an addition to the brick architecture and cover the courtyard behind the main tower.
